CPCS Trainer / Tester

Ainscough Training Services is the UK's largest independent provider of specialist training for the Management & Supervision of Lifting Operations and it is a CPCS accredited test centre as well as a CSkills assessment centre.

Derrick operates within a highly experienced team of CPCS Tester/Trainers who deliver management training from our newly built training centre in Leyland, Lancashire as well as on client's sites throughout the UK.

Career Profile

Derrick started his working career in 1965 as a Plant Fitter for The British Waterways Board (5 Year Indentured Apprenticeship).

Derrick then joined Levetons as a full time plant fitter specialising in 'Caterpillar' machinery.

Between 1973 and 1981, Derrick moved into the Open Cast Mining Industry. He was responsible for maintaining the largest Hydraulic Excavators in the world.

He the moved to Hewden Stuart in 1981 to supervise the maintainence and operation of a large fleet of Crawler Cranes. Derrick was heavily involved in Crane inspections and serious accident recovery. He was also responsible for the 4 yearly overload testing of the Crane fleet.

Derrick soon became a Plant Instructor and tester before leaving in 2006.

Ainscough Training Services welcomed Derrick on board following his 25 year carrier at Hewdens.

Derrick has a wealth of practical experience and knowledge which he shares with colleagues and clients on a daily basis.
